Wrapping up the blue Ottobre top, here it is on my dress form.
It looks much better with the neck band. Not too bad for a quick afternoon top.
Now I’m playing with fabrics to make a sweater-jacket to coordinate with it. I’ve had this fabric in my stash for a few years and it’s reversible. I love it. It’s extremely stretchy and thick. I think it will be perfect for a warm winter shawl style jacket.
Playing around and draping the fabric on my dress form. I know, it looks like a bathrobe there – it’s just raw fabric, remember?
But since I have just a little bit more time before I need to wrap up the sewing for today, I thought I’d quickly cut out another top. I chose this fabric from my stash for the basic reason that I can use the blue thread already in the serger.
All cut out, ready to sew.
I guess when I get back into the groove, I really get back into the groove, yes?

Looks good. Love the color. I can’t really wear blue but I’ve been doing some redecorating in the house and using some blue because I’ve been really drawn to it lately. Go figure!
I left you a couple thoughts on the previous post on the top. I’m like you lately. Haven’t had the time or mojo to sew. The last time I made anything was June! Been busy outside (love to garden) and now I’m trying to do some, actually a lot, of painting and redecorating inside.
Deb, my house has a LOT of blue in it too! My office is aqua, my kitchen is a steel-gray blue-green, my front room is a Tiffany blue. LOVE blue. I’ll respond to your comment on the other post too. Oh, and the last time I sewed prior to this was nearly a year ago – Christmas presents!
gorgeous color! does it fit better now that you have the neckband on? can’t wait to see what you do with double sided fabric.
Hi Teri – yes, it fits better, but that shoulder seam still goes slightly to the back, but I can live with it for now. It might be something that’s happening when I stitch the seam (even though I reinforce it with a stay strip) or when I set in the sleeves.
I love that double-sided fabric. Can’t wait to try it out! I think I have 2 yards of it.
