My youngest daughter’s pregnancy is coming along really well now, and I’m starting to feel very excited for a new little grandchild. The initial shock of an unexpected pregnancy has been completely replaced with the awe and wonder of being able to see my daughter’s baby grow. The miracle of an new baby will never fail to amaze me.
Baby Laila Grace is right on track with her weight, measurements, and everything. We’re feeling much more relaxed about baby’s progress and the doctors are happy with how she’s coming along.
Maybe we’re imagining it, but when we watch Baby Laila in the ultrasounds, we think we see a personality already. She doesn’t like to be prodded with the ultrasound and lets us know.
Here we see her crossing her legs.
And waving Hi!
Yes, I will be as much a doting grandma to this little one as I am to my other three. Good thing I saved those girl patterns that my other granddaughter outgrew. I must have had a hunch that sometime I’d have another granddaughter. Ya, we’ll call it that and not hoarding. LOL.
Stay tuned for more progress updates as we have them!

Wow, already a beautiful little lady! I am amazed at the sonogram technology these days. Back in 1980, I only kinda/sorta saw what looked like a baby two months before delivery!
And, she has a most lovely name, too. Glad all is going well!
Bev – I never got a sonogram when I was pregnant in 79 or 81. I just had to hope for the best. It amazes me when I think of the lack of prenatal care I had when I was pregnant and compare that to what women get today – particularly if they are more high risk. It’s just fabulous what the technology can do today.
And you’re right, my daughter picked a pretty name too. (I suggested Grace for the middle name.)
What awesome sonograms. I love the little hands. I also love her name. Sarah actually had thought of Grace for a first name but they decided to go with a two syllable name because they have such a short last name –
York.
It’s so much fun to watch them grow in the womb and out of. I’m so happy that things are going along nicely.
I like thisnetworked blog site. I’m going to join.
Joan – every once in a while I slip and say Lilah…lol… my daughter gets mad at me for that. I can’t wait to hold those little hands and make her all sorts of cute things – if my life would just slow down a little bit.
Look at that little PROFILE! So amazing, really happy for you, your daughter, and your whole family! I cannot wait until ONE DAY I will become a grandmother. I wont be sewing anything for him/her (LOL) but I’m sure to spoil them like crazy!
