Snowy January Morning

by Claire on January 16, 2012

We got about four to six inches of snow yesterday where I live, and there is more snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow night. One thing I love about the snow is waking up to it. The moonlight still shining on the new snow. The sun rising through sherbet colored clouds. The silence and stillness before the world wakes up. It’s like a fresh start to life packed into a few brief moments.

Here are a few pictures I captured this morning. Nothing fancy, but pretty. (As in, unaltered, untouched photos.)

The pictures really are beautiful. I am definitely a snow lover and I am disappointed that we haven’t gotten a drop of snow so far this year. I am fortunate to live in an area where I can go outside and not only see the snow but hear it without any other sounds interfering. I am also fortunate that the farthest I would ever have to drive to get anywhere is less than a mile. I love to see “untouched” photos.. When I see a photo I want to see how the object in the photo really looked, not how you wished it to look.

Joan – me too. Retouched photos are beautiful, eye candy, but unreal. I do wish I had a better camera so that they weren’t quite so grainy. Plus, I took some of them from inside through the window. I was too lazy to go outside. Brrr. I only have a mile to the nearest grocery store too, so that’s not too bad. Plus, I have 4WD now, so I am less afraid of driving in the snow. More afraid of the dumbasses out there who think their ginormous 4×4 won’t slideor roll over on the ice.

Hi Patty! Glad you found my website and enjoy it. I have another (older ) site you might want to browse when you are bored. LOL. It was my “sewing” site, but then I added so much other stuff into it that I transitioned over to this one. It was http://littlemis.wordpress.com “Little Miss Sew N Sew”. Lots of fun archives there to read.
