Wrapping up the blue Ottobre top, here it is on my dress form.
It looks much better with the neck band. Not too bad for a quick afternoon top.
Now I’m playing with fabrics to make a sweater-jacket to coordinate with it. I’ve had this fabric in my stash for a few years and it’s reversible. I love it. It’s extremely stretchy and thick. I think it will be perfect for a warm winter shawl style jacket.
Playing around and draping the fabric on my dress form. I know, it looks like a bathrobe there – it’s just raw fabric, remember?
But since I have just a little bit more time before I need to wrap up the sewing for today, I thought I’d quickly cut out another top. I chose this fabric from my stash for the basic reason that I can use the blue thread already in the serger.
All cut out, ready to sew.

I guess when I get back into the groove, I really get back into the groove, yes?

Help! What is with these shoulders? I have no idea what I’m doing wrong here. They keep pointing backward even after I altered the pattern to move them forward. I’m just lost.
You can see where the seam is, and the red line is where it should be. I don’t know if it’s the front and back pieces or how I’m setting in the sleeves. Any clues?
Even though this is a muslin, this is a better piece of knit than the last one I used and I could actually wear this one out under a jacket or sweater. It’s not a very thick knit, so it wouldn’t keep me very warm, though.
Here’s the muslin without the neckband attached. The left sleeve isn’t really twisted, trust me, it’s just how it’s hanging on me while taking pictures in a hurry. My photographer was rushing out the door.
Sorry about the blurry photo. Also, I never noticed that I have one shoulder much lower than the other. I don’t know if that’s how I’m standing or if I’m just irritated because my daughter was in a hurry to leave and took a crappy photo. LOL. And there’s all kinds of drag (pull) lines all over that back. Hmmm.
Oh well, onward and upward. I’m open to suggestions. I think I’ll attach the neckband and see what that does to the top.
