I’m back into some creativity, folks. Yes, this includes some sewing – I finally sewed a better, longer belt for the bathrobe I made my mom last Christmas. It’s not much, and it certainly was not complicated, but I used my sewing machine, and that’s what counts.
I also felt that since I’m sitting around nursing home rooms, I wanted some crochet or knitting to do, so I picked this easy crocheted baby jacket to make for my pregnant daughter. This is a super simple pattern – it’s about 54 tiny granny squares put together.
I’ve chosen pink, lilac, and white as the colors and am playing with the patterns. The gauge of this granny square is small, only three rows, so we’ll see. Maybe I’ll use a variety of patterns. Either way, it will be sweet on baby Laila Grace when she gets here. It will be early March and still cold enough here for a sweater.
Speaking of sewing, I’m realizing I have no winter clothes except for one pair of store bought pants. Hmm. Not enough. I recently bought this pattern (McCall’s 5923). I saw it first on Mermaids blog and I had to have it. I think it will look awesome on my new body by the time I find the exact fabric and get it sewn. And yes, I want this exact fabric done the way the model is wearing it – without the silly bow though. (Well, I suppose similar fabric will work, but I love the red and black.) If you’ve seen fabric like this, do tell.
If you’ve seen fabric like this, do tell. Meanwhile, I’m really enjoying getting back into my creative cadence.
